Daniela Landert is Professor of English Linguistics. Her research focuses on pragmatics and her research interests include the study of spontaneous language, performed language, pragmatics of fiction, historical linguistics and historical pragmatics, corpus linguistics, corpus pragmatics, stance and modality, news discourse and mass media communication. Currently, she is working on a research project on how the spontaneous production of spoken language affects linguistic forms and functions. In a recently completed project, she studied epistemic stance in Early Modern English, a project in which she evaluated existing and developed new methods for studying pragmatic functions based on electronic corpora. More information on her research projects is provided below.

Daniela Landert is the Editor of the Journal of Historical Pragmatics and she is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Pragmatics, the Journal of Language and Pop Culture, and the book series Pragmatics & Beyond New Series.
